The 2020 Design China Beijing will take place September 23-27, with a strong focus on design for a post-Covid 19 world. The theme for this year's edition is 'Design Thrives to Revive the World' as the challenges the design community faces both during and after the pandemic go far beyond creating a chair, a carpet, or an interior decoration item.
The show will seek to redefine the connection between design and sustainability, for the sake of our health but also the planet. Good design will remain a testament to this everchanging time we live in and will determine the outcome of business and restructure how we work.
This year's exhibitors include Walter Knoll, Zieta, Gufram, Interstul, Abet Laminati, NychairX, Lange production, Modernista, YOHJI YAMAMOTO, NewVision, Shaw Contract, Kinnarps, Flokk, Interstuhl as well as Chinese brands Maxmarko, Xue Design and Thrudesign.
Design China Beijing will also look into furniture for children through the new 'Kids at Home' section, which will investigate the trends and considerations for designing a healthy and safe environment for children. The show is working with professionals to select specialized brands to present real-life scenarios such as sleep, study and play areas.
