Paul Michael Davis Architects has designed a new light filled, modern residence for the Eulbergs in the Clyde Hill neighborhood just outside of Seattle, WA. Designed around a need for both light and privacy, the house was sunk and buried on the exposed street sides in order to create a private, green, southwest-facing courtyard space.
Inside, PMDA's design blends soft, warm materials like cedar, vertical grain fir, and wool, with modern industrial surfaces: gray brick, ground face concrete and laminated white cabinetry. Curated by art consultant Lele Barnett, the home also features colorful works of art by a number of Seattle artists that include Brian Sanchez, Anthony White, Justin Kane Elder and Bisco Smith.
