The World Design Organization is calling for submissions for the 2021 World Design Impact Prize. The Award program aims to recognize industrial design-driven projects that have a positive impact on our social, economic, cultural, or environmental quality of life.
"While we realize that there are a number of awards that showcase the social benefits of design, the World Design Impact Prize is unique in its attempt to not only seek out projects and recognize them for their solutions-based ability, but to bridge the gap between problems and solutions, design and purpose," commented WDO President Srini Srinivasan. "Win or lose, through the process of this call, we hope to not only find outstanding examples of design-led innovation, but to leverage our voice as an international organization to shine a spotlight on products and projects that have an impactful story to share about the communities they affect, the challenges they address and ultimately the difference they are making in the lives of everyday people."
Entries should showcase the expanding ways that design can make a positive impact on the world, including the design of systems and experiences. The deadline for submissions is April 30, 2021.
