The Meze 99 Classics is the day-to-day headphone that provides perfect natural sound for the pickiest of audio lovers. CNC carved wood earcups, cast zinc alloy hardware with electroplated coating, stamped manganese spring steel headband, memory foam and soft PU leather perfectly complete each other to create a distinctive design.
When industrial designer and founder of Meze Audio, Antonio Meze, set forth to create the 99 Classics, he identified three of the most important issues that users have with headphones: comfort, artificially adjusted frequencies and sound isolation. He solved these issues by creating a headband that delivers even pressure for any head size, using soft memory foam in earcups and by tuning a balanced natural sound with the help of the internal architecture of the wood enclosure.
Treasured for their rich, dark color, specific grain character and beautiful smell, walnut trees are strong and durable, yet, somehow, lightweight and malleable. For woodworkers, walnut is somewhat like a 'jack of all trades.' As part of the 99 Classics, walnut has the power to vibrate in a harmonious way, producing warm, detailed sound, while naturally enhancing noise isolation. Combined with a closed-back headphone design, the wooden frame balances the energy of all frequencies, creating better sound resonance.

This means that you can exchange any parts if that is ever necessary because they are assembled by high quality torx screws. No glue or plastic snap-in fixtures.
