Unique speech transmission quality
EarSet 2 represents an unheard-of focus on not only the standard of the listening quality, but of the transmitted sound quality also. Internally, innovative digital sound reproduction concepts are applied to a well-balanced design of both quality hardware and intelligent software solutions that truly make a difference.
Two omni-directional microphones are used to form the directional microphone system. The two microphones are approximately 30 millimetres apart and, together with Digital Signal Processing (DSP), assist in designing the dynamic sensitivity and directional characteristics of your voice. Omnidirectional microphones are more robust to wind noise than other types, and the two microphones compensate, filter and suppress wind noise, offering the best voice transmission possible. The end result is that sound is picked up exactly where it is, close to the face, leaving out sounds from the environment.
Listening to what is said
The loudspeaker is as known from our Earphones - a fully-fledged closed cabinet speaker unit in miniature. Supported by air vents and a bass port and together with the ergonomic fit, the speaker unit ensures a frequency response that offers a very high degree of tonal precision.
DSP plays a key role in optimizing the sound for each specific call. Digital Signal Processing monitors both the dynamic technical and tonal qualities of the signal to be reproduced, and the priority is to maintain the characteristics of the human voice. This means that not all transmission noise is eliminated, as this would create dead sound in natural pauses. As always, EarSet 2 ensures that there is always the sensation of a real person at the other end of the conversation.
In addition, DSP balances the static variables of the acoustic design, the characteristics of the amplification and loudspeaker system itself, as well as the imperfections caused by non-consistent transmission quality.
Setting a new standard for mobile and wearable devices
Simply fold out the short microphone arm and EarSet 2 is switched on. Fold the arm in again and it is switched off. How much more simple can it be? This makes it difficult to drain the battery by accident. This type of smooth and precise movement that also offers great benefit to the user is typical of Bang & Olufsen.
The extremely comfortable fit is made possible with the three-way adjustable ear piece, known from our other hands-free solutions. The choice of beautifully crafted aluminium and soft-touch plastic surfaces ensures EarSet 2 is a pleasure to handle and wear. When someone rings you, EarSet 2 gets your attention with its own especially composed ringing tone. Bang & Olufsen began working with composers for ringing tones with the BeoCom 2 cordless telephone, and this melody has been adapted for the placement of EarSet 2 close to the ear.
