Maurice Marinot: The Glass 1911-1934
This is the first English-language volume on Maurice Marinot (1882-1960), a pioneer in the development of glass as a studio art form. Initially, a member of the Fauves, in 1911 Marinot visited the glassworks of the Viard brothers at Bar-sur-Seine, a catalytic moment that led to an all-encompassing passion for glass. Marinot quickly began designing bowls, vases and bottles, which his friends would produce for him to paint, using enamels.
