Mulberry has created a guide to all that makes Britain such a brilliant place to be. Inspired by the British government's GREAT campaign to promote Britain on an international scale, Brilliant Britain elevates the country's unsung heroes, undiscovered places, people and talents and is Mulberry's celebration of the charming peculiarities and time-honoured traditions of the country it calls home.
Mulberry commissioned editor Henrietta Thompson to pull together a selection of the wonderful landscapes, architecture, craft, food, people, traditions and innovations into a tailored and 'live' guide. Nominations came from British luminaries including Tim Walker, Alexandra Shulman, Alain de Bottom and Tom Parker Bowles.
Edited highlights from the website have been produced as a bespoke printed booklet, which will launch in Mulberry stores throughout the UK and Europe in October with Asia and the United States to follow. It will also be available in the stores of many of the booklet's featured brands.
This project has been designed to be live and inclusive, with a section called Your Brilliant Britain where visitors to the website can send in their own nominations. With the help of the public, the aim is to collect all submitted recommendations to populate a geographical map of Brilliant Britain. Readers can then explore by region and view all nominations, as the map grows and populates over time.
The best nominations from the public will be curated into a 'Your Brilliant Britain' gallery on the website, and all featured nominations are automatically entered into an exclusive competition to win a 'handbag of British curiosities' curated by Mulberry and containing strange and wonderful things gathered from brands and people featured in the guide.
