Spike DDB and Gentleman Scholar flip the script on long-standing stereotypes of NOLA. Breaking down common misconceptions of New Orleans as an inherently crime-ridden pocket of America, this spot to raise awareness for Mayor Landrieu's anti-crime initiative, Nola For Life, offers an alternative solution that begins with immediate change.
Spike DDB set out to develop a concept that would bring positive change by shifting negative perceptions of NOLA. Gentleman Scholar was tasked with creating a style that would easily convey the message while still carrying the heavy emotional impact of existing news headlines. The challenge was then to create a style that straddled the line of informational and textural, while developing an entertaining and meaningful spot.
"We are always proud to take on projects like these," commented directors Will Johnson and Will Campbell. "The message communicated is positive and something that gives us extra drive to create visuals that not only tell a story, but are beautiful."
