Thonet has unveiled Side Table S 18 by Uli Budde. Reminiscent of an infinite loop, the linear tubular steel frame forms a pendant corresponding to the tabletop and the central motif of the circle.
"From the onset, the form of the circle was very important to me for the design. I understand the motif of the circle in this design as an ode to the first Thonet bentwood classics," explained Budde.

Linear elements are also essential for the design. The tubular steel frame results from a closed loop, hinting at Marcel Breuer's layout of lines that was typical for the Bauhaus and perceived as infinite. Based on these two geometric forms, the table reveals ever-new perspectives. This dynamics gives it a spontaneous and young character as well as a classic one.
