Bernhardt Design Launches Luca by Luca Nichetto

Bernhardt Design has launched the Luca Collection from renowned designer Luca Nichetto. The collection includes modular seating options - benches, sofas, loveseats, chaises, connecting corners, and seating units - as well as end tables with multiple power options that can support the technology needs of today's open spaces.

"The brief was to create a modular seating system - so I immediately gravitated towards designing something universal, meaning that it works as a collective but also as freestanding pieces," Nichetto said. "These days public spaces are becoming more like home, and our homes are becoming more public, so why not do something that can cross over to both worlds? I wanted to do a project that emphasized the idea of 'connecting by communicating,' designing a classical typology as a modular seat with a little twist, allowing it to fit into any environment."

Luca is a versatile series of designs that range from a sleek modular sofa system and beautifully sculpted benches to meticulously crafted tables of different shapes, sizes, and materials. Each offers the appearance of effortless simplicity, resulting in a collection with universal appeal. The collection, with its uniformity and gentle curves, was conceived to anchor open spaces in diverse environments ranging from museum galleries and corporate lounges to modern living rooms.

The seating system within the Luca family includes 41 individual pieces that are interchangeable. An unlimited number of configurations can be achieved, from typical classic formations to unusual and unique arrangements for more progressive environments. When placed individually, the pieces add texture and appeal to smaller and more intimate spaces.

The pieces were designed to transcend a specific category, giving prominence to angular cast aluminum legs that generate a balanced feel to the subtle-curves of the seats and tabletops. A family of companion tables, poufs, and freestanding benches enrich the collection. The tables, which are different shapes and heights, create a compelling visual landscape.
