nemaworkshop recently designed a new New Orleans restaurant, Picnic Provisions & Whiskey. This corner restaurant brings the beloved picnic experience indoors with a sensational aesthetic rooted in warm architectural details.
Upon entering, guests are welcomed by a space that beats any design. The charming restaurant's dining room outfitted with edge-wood slab tables complemented by plaid cushioned seats, is a place for bears and foodies alike. Further infusing vibrancy throughout the space is Picnic Provision and Whiskey's retro jukebox and a neon sign that reads 'You Make Me So Happy,' which adorns the back wall's bayou-inspired print.
Moving through the space, the restaurant's bar and open-style kitchen come into full view. The bar is outfitted with a steel counter, woven blue bar stools, and pendant globe lights. Stationed behind the countertop, a full bar is integrated into an inset shelving unit positioned within a softened arch. Turquoise paint is used to frame the bar, as well as mark the entrance to the open-kitchen. Located above the restaurant's ordering counter are cubby spaces holding picnic baskets, paying homage to the restaurant's namesake and theme. Playful signage further emphasizes this design feature.
