New York-based design studio, adolescent creates complete re-branding for Nickelodeon's celebrity-hosted weekend programming TEENick.
Nickelodeon, the #1 Kids Channel, wanted to totally re-brand their live action and celebrity-hosted weekend block known as TEENick. For this project, adolescent looked to the teen world for inspiration: classrooms, bedrooms, garages, neighborhood streets, playgrounds... integrating TEENick graphic elements and the glam of star-studded shows into real teen environments.
The young talent of these TEENick shows are stars in their own right and in the new spots their photos pop up on buttons, stickers, and posters on classroom chairs, bedroom walls, notebooks, cds... Knowing that practically everything a teen uses or wears is marked by stickers, badges, buttons and other collectibles proclaiming their favorite things, that's the versatile, expressive and fast-changing world in which adolescent based the concept. adolescent shot footage in actual teenagers' environments later adding the colorful iconic graphics to create a new look for all the shows. Teenagers always want to be treated older than their years and the TEENick style respects that.
adolescent worked closely with the in-house team on all aspects of the design which will be apply to TV, online, print and set-design. Most importantly, the imaging looks natural and catchy spilling out of a backpack, stuck on a skateboard, scattered across a messy desk, or taped to a locker, making a seamless connection between TEENick programming and kids lives.
