Thonet's new extensible table series for living and dining spaces was first shown at the Milan furniture fair in 2011. It is marked by a clear design language, a patented, extremely practical extension technique and the rounded corners of the tabletop.
By pulling on one half of the tabletop, the other half opens automatically. At the same time, the central leaf is raised up, extending the surface area from 160x100 cm to 210x100 cm. By pushing the halves back together again, the central leaf sinks down into its resting position.
The series is available in beech, oak or walnut and lacquered or veneered. The tabletop is available in thicknesses from 22 to 46 mm, and is carried by a central, rectangular column and a powder-coated steel frame. This is comprised of a square metal plate, mirroring the soft corners of the tabletop and thus lending the whole construction a harmonious appearance.
