    Mondo Mendini: The World of Alessandro Mendini at Groninger Museum

    'Mondo Mendini: The World of Alessandro Mendini,' on view at the Groninger Museum through May 5, is a large-scale exhibition of the renowned Italian designer, who 25 years ago served as the chief architect of the still remarkable Groninger Museum building, put together shortly before he passed away. Mendini chose to display not only a broad selection from his own oeuvre, but he also selected works by artists with whom he felt a kinship, such as Paul Signac, Gio Ponti, and Michele De Lucchi.

    TCLF Announces Cornelia Hahn Oberlander As Namesake of New Landscape Architecture Prize

    Cornelia Hahn Oberlander has been announced as the namesake of the first international landscape architecture prize by The Cultural Landscape Foundation (TCLF). The Cornelia Hahn Oberlander International Landscape Architecture Prize (Oberlander Prize), which will be conferred biennially beginning in 2021, is the first and only international landscape architecture prize that includes a US$100,000 award, along with two years of public engagement activities.

Visitors will encounter lab-grown food, seaweed textiles, and ballet shoes made with sweat among a range of works that raise many questions, including about what technologies may hold for intimacy, identity, and citizenship.

    The 55th Chicago International Film Festival​ has announced the line-up for this year's ​'Spotlight: Architecture x Design'​ program with a special focus on Production Design. The Spotlight, presented on the occasion of the third Chicago Architecture Biennial, will showcase a program of films that bring a new perspective to architecture and design-related themes. As part of the event, the Festival will feature a unique ​'In Focus: Production Design'​ program with support provided by the ​Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences​.

    Building Beyond Place: RUR Engages Taiwan's Architectural Cosmopolitanism, on view at TAAC Tribeca/ E.Tay Gallery in New York through October 17, features three projects by New York-based architecture firm Reiser +Umemoto (RUR) - the Taipei Music Center, Alishan Tourist Routes, and Kaohsiung Port Terminal. The exhibition explores how the architects responded to three geographically diverse post-industrial sites in Taiwan: urban Taipei, rural Alishan, and maritime Kaohsiung.
