    New York State Launches Buildings of Excellence Competition

    New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo has launched 'The Buildings of Excellence Competition'. In support of his Green New Deal and climate and energy agenda the Competition aims to accelerate the design, development, construction and operation of very low or zero carbon emitting buildings. The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is administering the competition and seeking proposals for projects that reduce their energy consumption and per capita carbon emissions in a manner which can be replicated at scale.

    Ettore Sottsass and the Social Factory

    This April, The Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami (ICA Miami) will launch a new biannual exhibition initiative committed to exploring significant advances in postwar and contemporary design and its relationship to contemporary art, with Ettore Sottsass and the Social Factory - an exhibition that considers the practice of the influential designer beyond his place in the history of design, and places Sottsass' work within the social and economic contexts in which it was produced.

    2019 IFLA Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe Award: Call for Nominations

    The 2019 IFLA Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe Award, the highest honor that the International Federation of Landscape Architects can bestow upon a landscape architect, is now open for nominations. The Award recognises a living landscape architect whose achievements and contributions have had a unique and lasting impact on the welfare of society and the environment and on the promotion of the profession of landscape architecture. The award is bestowed annually on an individual whose work and achievements merit this recognition.

    2020 New York State Council on the Arts Independent Project Grants

    The New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) is offering Independent Project grants of up to $10,000 for architecture, design, and historic preservation professionals. NYSCA's 2020 program in Architecture + Design is offered to individuals or teams to creatively explore or research an issue or problem in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, community centered design, historic preservation, fashion, graphic, industrial, and/or interior design that advances that field and contributes to a broader understanding of design.

  5. DANAD Design - The Art of Pop Design

    DANAD Design: The Art of Pop Design

    An exhibition of works celebrating DANAD's 60th Anniversary by Peter Blake, Bernard Cohen, Tom Adams, Barry Daniels, Robyn Denny & Edward Wright tells the untold story of the DANAD Design collective (1958-62). The exhibition, sponsored by Abet Laminati and hosted at Paul Smith's Mayfair gallery from April 25 through May 10, is the first in DANAD's 2019-20 series of events celebrating the forgotten story of a group of young artists of the pop-art era.
